Random Links

I want to make this (just for fun):

I will need a sewing machine and someone to teach me how to use it. Any takers? ;)

I want to make these for my wedding instead of using bubbles or rice:

This is a cute print:

And finally, I am in love with the cake toppers this lady makes. They are custom made to match your dress and to look just like you(the bride) and your groom. LOVE! But they are too expensive and normally I would splurge and just buy it, but I am not because I want to save more money for a house. Click around her shop! They're adorable!!!

Happy Snow Day!

Only God

You will never disappoint me,
You will never let me down.
You are always capable to bring a smile from my frown.

When I put my hope in others,
to meet my every need,
You calmly sit and wait,
For me to take the lead.

To put my hope in You alone,
To place You at the top.
To honor You above all else,
In the end You're all I've got.

And You sit and wait for me to see,
You're all I'll ever need.
Please forgive me for neglecting You,
For selfish pride and greed.
I often try to fill my time with what I think is right,
While all the while I'm missing out on walking in the light.

My Maker wants my heart and soul to long for Him alone,
And all the while I'm hoping for a ring from my cell phone.
These earthly bonds are such a gift, but never should they grow,
To consume our heart and overwhelm, for in the end I know,
That people always let us down,
There's truly only One,
Who can fill our hearts so full,
Father God, Spirit, and Son.

You will never disappoint me,
You will never let me down.
When I'm empty, lost, or lonely through Your Grace I'm always found!

Share a Random Moment

Last night Sally and I were at TJMaxx/ Home Goods. At one point we were looking through all of the framed art and wall hangings and one large picture caught my eye. I didn't especially care for the artwork, rather it was the print that drew me in and got me thinking. "Share a Random Moment" was scrawled across the canvas above and below a coffee cup omitting what I like to call aromatic steam. Ha! Whatever- I liked the quote. So tonight- as I sat on the couch in a daze due to my head cold I thought I'd run with my creative juices and ended up with this poem. I secretly want to be an author- a published author- so you can be my guinea pigs. Read on and hopefully you will enjoy!

Share a Random Moment

No time to chat, I have to go,
From the alarm clock ring I’m on a roll,
I’m working hard, I’m moving fast,
But when will I stop to see what’s passed?

Life’s whizzing by, in spite of me,
So many missed opportunities,
To share a random moment with the people in my day,
To give them my attention, not plug along my way,
To delight in others’ presence, it truly is a gift,
For people are most valuable, whose spirits might I lift?

To share a random moment, in spontaneity,
With joy I’ll take an interest in someone besides me!
When we reach out to the ones so near, who seem so far away,
We show God’s love inside our hearts and shine for Him today.
The time we take to spend with others will never be a waste,
A focus on the earthly things is simply in bad taste.

For when the clock stops ticking and our time has passed away,
Our creator God will inquire, “How did you spend your days?”
May you focus on what matters and confidently plea,
“Lord, I shared the random moments that YOU laid before me.”

I Believe

I wrote this poem back in January. I hope you might draw some form of inspiration and hope from it. Enjoy! :)

I BELIEVE

Blessings wait to be bestowed
Based on our belief

Prayers are whispered yearningly
Yet with a doubting heart
And so we wait
While He waits for us to show we truly BELIEVE

We think God might be able,
Yet still, we’re unstable
Waiting for changes we fear are impossible

All the while God can do
Even more than we may ask him to
He waits for us to show we’re ready
To know He will show us the way

Get grounded in His truth and love
Know his power and mercy above
God is waiting for our praise
Let go, trust him and BELIEVE

For once we believe
He surely can achieve
What was once deemed impossible
He waited to bless upon you
Only once you showed your heart was ready
And you truly
Wholeheartedly
Undoubtedly and
Genuinely
BELIEVED

When All Else Fails I Post a Poem

Autumn leaves are slowing drifting,
Telling us it’s time for fall.
Colors swirling as the wind blows,
Take a breath and see it all.

Changing seasons, time is ticking,
Drawing us along our way.
Winter’s coming, cold is nearer,
With the passing of each day.

Cycles swirling all around us,
Knowing what is coming next.
Spring will surface, Summer splashes,
Back to fall, some like it best!

With the seasons we will travel,
As we live here on this earth.
Enjoying each time as it passes,
Since we started at our birth.

Be Careful What You Wish For

The banana turns from green to yellow.

"Don't be sad you little fellow,
Turning shades is what you do.
Soon you'll be another hue."

The banana began to turn a frown.

"I just don't want to turn all brown!
Please help me from this rotten fate!"

So then, per request, the banana I ate.

Brewing in My Brain

I’ve got a little thought that’s been brewing in my brain
Like a tiny coffee bean, ground and placed upon a flame
A little percolator is really all it needs
To grow into its place here in reality

This little thought is brewing; it takes some time you know
For such a timid thought to be tended so it grows
With time and some attention, this thought may brew to be
A grand idea, perhaps an invention to help society
A poem or words of wisdom, a story, quote or trend
The possibilities, they may simply never end

So next time a thought is brewing, humor me if you will
Take time to place your mug out to see how it might fill
These gentle whispers, nudges, & ideas they come and go
If we do not pay them attention, the world will never know
Of these tiny little treasures that started off so small
They could have brewed into fruition, to influence us all
